Laura's Weekend In Chigwell
Our Weekend In ChigwellHaving driven through the beautiful county of Essex I couldn't wait to go explore Hallmark Hotel Chigwell Prince Regent for our weekend in Chigwell. It is a popular choice for weddings, and I can see why. There are so many picture perfect opportunities within the grounds, and the building itself is a lovely backdrop for any wedding. We then had a delicious meal in the restaurant before having some friends to join us for a drink in the bar, the perfect way to relax before our adventure-filled weekend in Chigwell. Friday began with a trip to the Olympic Park, we made the short walk from the hotel to the tube and headed to Stratford. The ArcelorMittal Orbit stood out as soon as I stepped off the tube, its tall red structure can be seen from afar and is home to the tallest tunnel slide in the world, I couldn't wait to get up there. After enjoying the beautiful views that surrounded us, we got ourselves ready for our slide down to the bottom. I took a few deep breaths and then I was gone, whizzing down the tunnel at speeds of up to 15mph, it really is such an exciting ride. I could not stop smiling when I reached the bottom and I definitely felt like Bambi on the ice when I stood up. We then explored the park that was home to the brilliant London 2012 Olympics and it really is a fantastic place to visit. It was then back on the tube and three stops to North Greenwich where we were off to climb the O2, and wow what a view. After getting all harnessed up and watching the safety video, as a group, we were lined up to make the climb. It starts off quite steep but gets easier with each step, and it's definitely well worth the climb. Especially after watching the sunset and seeing those wonderful views of London in the dark, it really was quite the experience. On Saturday, our last and final day we were lucky enough to have a beautiful crisp, but sunny autumn morning, and where better to spend it than walking through Epping Forest. There really is so many different paths to explore, and we ended up stumbling across a beautiful pond, and with the leaves looking all autumnal, it really was a great way to escape the hustle of a busy life and just have some quality time somewhere peaceful and picturesque. Thank you so much to Hallmark Hotel Chigwell Prince Regent for such an action packed weekend away. Watch what Laura got up to in Chigwell below.
