Laura The Explorer's Weekend In Hull
My weekend in HullOne thing that caught my eye immediately when arriving in Hull was the Humber Bridge in the distance. It really is quite spectacular. Having checked in at the hotel for my weekend in Hull and dropping our bags off at the room, we decided to head straight out to the Humber Bridge Country Park, as it was only a mile away we decided to walk. We checked out the map and saw that there were a few different paths so we decided to try a couple of them, the pond trail and the cliff trail. Heading through the woods we came across chalk cliffs, a lovely little pond and plenty of greenery. It's a lovely place to visit if you fancy a woodland walk or some peace and quiet. After a bit of down time to relax in our hotel room, we went down to the hotel restaurant for some dinner. We enjoyed a delicious evening meal and cheeky bottle of Prosecco, to toast our weekend away. We ended up finishing it off on the hotel terrace over looking the Humble Bridge as the sun set, a peaceful place to unwind for the evening. On Saturday morning we started the day off the best way possible, with a relaxing neck, shoulder and back massage. While waiting for my mum to have hers, I tried not to fall asleep in the relaxation room. After our treatments and feeling super chilled, we made the 10 minute drive into Hull city centre to do my traditional bit of retail therapy. After some purchases, we made our way back for something I had been looking forward to all day, afternoon tea out on the wonderful terrace. The weather was absolutely beautiful and really was the cherry on top of the cake (no pun intended). Because we were so full from all the absolutely delicious sandwiches, cakes, pastries and scones, we decided to just freshen up and order another bottle of Prosecco to enjoy some down time in the hotel bar and on the terrace before bed. On our final day in Hull we enjoyed a cooked breakfast before making our way to The Deep aquarium. I had heard really good things about The Deep, so I couldn't wait to see what was in store. It really is a cool and interesting day out. It was lovely to see the penguins as they have so much personality. I loved watching as they would waddle along the top and jump into the water, swimming around. Being able to see above and below the water really does make it that little bit more fascinating and watching the huge variety of fish swim around from all different angles, as you make your way down the aquarium is fantastic. Once we had made our way around The Deep, we had a quick look in the shop where I had to resist an adorable penguin cuddly toy. I'd highly recommend visiting The Deep if like me you're fascinated by sea life. Thank you so much to Hallmark Hotel Hull for such a wonderful and relaxing weekend in Hull.
