Dog’s are man’s (or woman’s) best friend for a reason. They are unbelievably loyal, and they are always there for you no matter what. These furry little friends of ours, in turn, become part of the family. So, when you’re off on a trip in the UK, we believe that you should be able to bring your pampered pooches with you. You wouldn’t leave a family member at home, and that’s just what dogs are. When staying with us don’t worry about leaving your loyal companion at home, we’re pet-friendly and we’ve even come up with some great places for a dog walk.
Great Places For A Dog Walk
Grosvenor Park, Chester
Whatever the weather, Grosvenor Park situated in Chester City Centre is a popular park amongst tourists and locals. This Victorian park boasts large sweeping green lawns, preened shrubbery and vibrant flowers. It’s the perfect spot for a walk in an attractive setting, plus it’s dog-friendly. Your little pooch will love roaming free and making friends with other four-legged friends, that's why it's one of our great places for a dog walk. Plus, it’s just a five-minute walk from both of our hotels situated in Chester.
Chester Green Park, Derby
Just a few miles out of the bustling Derby city centre, is Chester Green Park. It’s a traditional English park perfect for dog walking. Surrounded by magnificent old trees, your dog will have a field day sniffing out the new smells and running around the foliage. Whether you visit in Summer and take shade from the trees or you go and see the fantastic colour of the leaves turning golden brown in Autumn, it’s a great spot no matter the season. Plus it’s a ten-minute drive from our Derby hotels.
Milgarholm Park, Irvine
This 27-acre park is surrounded by the River Irvine and has a lake that your little pooch will love to dive in and splash around. Take a walk down the lovely river embankment pathway surrounded by lush woodlands and green landscape. The River Irvine sweeps around the surrounding edges of the park and makes for a lovely walk. Keep a look out for the wildlife that the river supports, such as Kingfishers, owls and herons. This luscious park is just a fifteen-minute walk from our Irvine hotel.
Robinswood Country Park, Gloucester
Robinswood Country Park is set in 250 acres of open countryside. Set up on a hill towering over the City of Gloucester, it’s the perfect view point. With magnificent views of the Severn Bridge, Malvern Hills and the Black Mountains as over the city and the surrounding countryside. There are plenty of nature trails that cover the hill. It’s a great walk for both dogs and dog-lovers, and it can be reached in just a five-minute drive from our Gloucester hotel.
Set in 54 acres of serene and landscaped gardens is Flitwick Manor, one of our pet-friendly hotels. This one is perfect, as you don’t even need to leave the hotel grounds to give your pooch a walk.
