If you love a good view (and who doesn’t?) then you’re in luck. We’ve pulled together some of Britain’s finest views – each will be near one of our 26 Hallmark Hotels, giving you the perfect place to stay when discovering the best views in Britain.
One of the best parts of Britain is its sheer variety of landscapes. Because of this, our selection is varied, covering rural, coastal and urban areas so as not to show preferential treatment to any one landscape. A mix of spectacular, picturesque and awe-inspiring views await you….
We have already talked about the beauty of this mountainous nirvana in our posts Lakes of Britain and Hills of Britain – but we couldn’t resist touching on it once more.
One of the most famous views in Snowdonia is the sight you can behold at the top of Mount Snowdon. Equal parts dazzling and dizzying, this view offers a gorgeous sweeping panorama encompassing parts of the Snowdonian mountain range as well as lakes Glaslyn and Llyn Llydaw. We’d call it breathtaking, but that’d be an understatement!
In between devouring the peaks of Snowdonia, you can be sure to find peace and comfort over at Hallmark Hotel Wrexham Llyndir Hall near Chester which is just an hour’s drive from the heart of Snowdonia National Park. A 19th century country house set in 5 beautiful acres of landscaped gardens awaits you after a long day of exploring. Sit down, warm up and enjoy fine cuisine in our Hallmark Grill or head to our health club and indoor pool to relax and recharge.
London – Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament
London is full of spectacular sights; from its historical monuments and skyscrapers to the shores of the River Thames and the show-stopping houses in Belgravia and Mayfair. The city oozes history and importance, standing tall with a unique grace and elegance that belongs to London alone.
This view is probably one of the most photographed city views in the world. Featuring the Palace of Westminster – the meeting place for the House of Lords – and Big Ben, it’s one of the city’s most culturally, politically and historically significant places. Little known is the fact that Big Ben is only the name of the clock, with the tower’s name actually being Elizabeth Tower!
Whether you take in this stunning and iconic view from Westminster Bridge or from a boat ride along the Thames, it will undoubtedly take your breath away.
You have a choice of two Hallmark Hotels in London depending on which part of the capital you wish stay in, but this amazing landmark is exactly an hour’s journey from each, so they are both perfectly situated.
Bournemouth Beach and Pier
Great Britain is blessed with many coastlines but one of the prettiest has to be Bournemouth, Dorset, on the south coast of England.
Bournemouth’s award-winning beaches offer 7 miles of well-maintained, clean, soft, honey-coloured sand, an iconic pier packed with fun-filled entertainment and stunning sea and land views, and a fabulously vibrant seafront city to explore.
The view from the beach is as mesmerising as the land view from the pier, so you can take your pick. And if you want the best view of all – drawing together Bournemouth’s city and city sights – try the death-defying zipline ride at RockReef activity centre on the pier. As the world’s first pier to shore zip wire, it’s not to be missed!
Boscombe beach is one of our favourite beaches along this coastline stretch, featuring Bournemouth’s dream-like sand and one of favourite piers in the area, Boscombe pier. It’s also happily situated 1.5 miles from both Hallmark Hotels in Bournemouth which offer absolutely stunning sea views, blissful spa facilities and a great range of beautiful rooms and apartments to rest your head in.
King’s College Cambridge – view from the river
Cambridge is an impressive looking city, with its ancient academic buildings, monuments and strong sense of history.
King’s College and chapel stand proud on the shore of the River Cam as a fine example of Gothic architecture. Construction of the building started in 1441 and took nearly a century to complete – this kind of beauty cannot be rushed.
Enjoy this view from the gardens in the front or from the River Cam on a punt. Wherever you choose to soak it up, it’s sure to stun.
Whilst in Cambridge – enjoying an exploration of cobbled streets and buildings steeped in history as well as a variety of cultural exploits – head to Hallmark Hotel Cambridge to rest, recharge and rejuvenate. Our health club includes a gorgeous pool, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, gym and spa treatment rooms so you can really spoil yourself. Or, if you find a few rounds of golf helps you unwind, head to our large golf course instead.
