A weekend in Bournemouth: Top things to do
A vibrant cosmopolitan town with lots to see and do over a weekend, Bournemouth offers literally miles of beach, a great variety of shops, restaurants, nightlife and other attractions. If you’re looking to spend a weekend on the South Coast, don’t miss out on the following:
Culture and exhibitions
The Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum has a large selection of paintings and artefacts to see, all housed in a stunning building surrounded by well-kept gardens.
The Oceanarium has, as you would expect, a large collection of fish, but there are also mammals such as otters and penguins. Don’t forget to see the giant turtles – they make a real splash!
If you want more energetic activities, why not go to Sorted Watersports next to Boscombe Pier, where you can learn surfing, hire stand up paddle boards and kayaks?
Eating and drinking
For beer lovers, the Wight Bear Ale House is known for its quality beer and friendly atmosphere, while Sixty Million Post Cards is a quirky bar with a wide range of beers that regularly hosts music events.
