There are attractions and displays for people of all ages at Glasgow's award-winning Riverside museum located at Pointhouse Quay on Glasgow's harbour. This attraction is free for all adults and kids.
Inside you'll be able to explore over 3000 objects on display showcasing various modes of transport from skateboards to prams to cars and even a Stromtrooper. Kids can be immersed in the interactive panels which tell the fascinating story behind the objects. The displays will also walk you through vibrant Glasgow taking in the shops, the bars and the subway. Jump aboard an old train or tram and experience what the old public transport network was like. You can all even take a walk down an old cobbled Glasgow street with shops dating back to the 19th century.
Based on the banks of the River Clyde, a large part of the museum's tapestry is naturally dedicated to the Glasgow's rich shipbuilding history. Berthed outside the museum you will find Glasgow's Tall Ship, Glenlee, the UK's only floating Clyde-built sailing ship and also free to enter. Step on board this impressive ship where educational programmes are held and there are plenty of ways to entertain the kids including an under 5s play area in the cargo hold to a mouse hunt!
