The village of Flitwick – pronounced ‘Flit-ick’ is mentioned in the Domesday Book as a ‘hamlet on the River Flitt’. Flitwick Wood, an ancient woodland has enjoyable walks and scenery. Flitwick Moor is the largest area of wetland in Bedfordshire. This nature reserve is home to many birds and dragonflies.
Hallmark Hotel Flitwick Manor is near to a host of attractions including the nearby Woburn Safari Park and Woburn Abbey as well as being a short distance from Bletchley Park, once the top-secret home of the World War Two Codebreakers.
