The Stars Come Out at Hallmark Hotel Derby
Hallmark Derby has been home to the star’s this week, with Kirstie Alsop staying over whilst doing some filming in the area for the channel 4 programme Location, Location, Location.
The director and producer visited the week before for two nights to check out the area and make all the final arrangements. We also organised access to a local 15 storey hotel so they could do a high film shot of the city and gave them some other local information. The film crew started to arrive on the following Monday then Kirstie checked in mid week. The couple were looking for a house in the Derby area but did stray a little further a field to the Peak District. Unfortunately they wouldn’t tell us if they had found a house in the area, so we’ll have to wait and see in the Autumn when it’s screened.
It created much excitement in the hotel with quite few guests spotting her in the lounge area and our Reservation manager is a big fan so she asked our chef to bake some homemade cookies for her room and she popped a welcome card in the room as well. She wanted to knit her a special little purse with flowers for her key card, but we managed to talk her out of that one. The only down side was we didn’t get to see Phil Spencer he was filming for the same episode further south.
Great to have somebody from TV in the hotel, the reservation team are now a bit star struck and are wanting George Clooney next!
