Hallmark Hotels Expands to Croydon

The Leeds-based contemporary hotel collection has expanded further with the purchase of a property in the South of England.

The former Aerodrome hotel will undergo a £2million refurbishment to bring it in line with Hallmark Hotels’ other six properties.

Originally built in 1928 to serve the airport - then in Croydon, it has a well loved heritage in Surrey. The hotel has 109 bedroom as well as fully equipped meeting and conference facilities. The hotel also has a restaurant and bar that will be stocked with Hallmark Hotel’s extensive wine and relaxed fine dining offering.

“Hallmark Croydon marks the seventh hotel for us and fulfills a long held desire to continue our expansion into the South of England, alongside our property in Bournemouth. The hotel has a rich history in the area and we look forward to becoming a part of that as we update the property in the Hallmark style.”

The refurbishment will begin in May with an estimated completion of August. As with all previous purchases, Hallmark Hotels plan to train and develop the existing team to deliver the exemplary service standards that have become a signature of Hallmark Hotels in Bournemouth, Carlisle, Derby, Gloucester, Hull and Manchester.
