Eat and drink

If a day walking in historic Cambridge or cheering on a winner at Newmarket – or even sitting in business meetings – has left you ravenous, the Hallmark Hotel Cambridge has the answer. Our light bright contemporary restaurant serves a menu to suit a range of tastes, with options for younger members of the family. Using the freshest seasonal ingredients it serves a diverse mix of modern British and European favourites sprinkled with spicy classics from further afield, along with a few sharing plates and sundaes to complete the picture.

You’ll find the likes of spiced lamb tagine, pan fried seabass fillet, Teriyaki salmon and mushroom ravioli, alongside beer battered local fish and chips, Kansas style bbq glazed spare ribs, 10oz ribeye steaks and our signature burgers. If you’ve any room left, you can try our refreshing lemon tart with clotted cream or our banana split sundae with sticky toffee fudge ice cream and whipped cream.

Meet our head chef

Name: Paul Watts

Signature dish: Pan fried duck breast with vanilla mash and honey roasted parsnips, served with pak choi and Shakai mushrooms 

How to make Paul's signature dish at home

1. Frist of all trim your duck breast up so its square in shape
2. Make your mash and pass it though a ricer, so that it is nice and smooth
3. Then get one vanilla pod and take the seeds out of it
4. Add to the mash with some butter and cream
5. Prep the parsnips by peeling and batton them, then cut the pak choi into 4 as well as the mushrooms
6. Blanch the parsnips and pak choi, then in a wok pan fry the mushrooms and then add the parsnips and pak choi
7. Drizzle some honey in to the pan, season and grated nutmug
8. Pipe the mash on a plate, then add the pan fried vegetables, then slice the duck and fan on the plate
9. Make sure the duck is served pink, then finish with a rich mardia jus and fresh redcurrants
10. Enjoy!

We offer a delicious breakfast buffet, including cooked and continental breakfast items. We are more than happy to provide table service for our guests on request. We also offer a wide choice of dishes cooked to order like omelettes, poached haddock, porridge, kippers and poached eggs. Vegetarian breakfast options are also available.

24 Hour room service

All our menus are available for room service delivery, between 10.00 and 21.30. After 21.30, we offer our takeaway menu with pizzas, hot dogs, nachos and sandwiches. We also offer a 24 hour drinks room service for our residents.

The breakfast buffet was great with plenty of choice. Even better though was the evening meal. The food was excellent quality and the service was brilliant too.
