Our recent multi-million pound refurbishment created a stellar banqueting and conference centre, and sculpture bar. But that wasn’t the extent of the development. Not by a long shot. The Best Western Hallmark Hotel Warrington Fir Grove is now the proud home of the elegantly modern Capri Restaurant, with its richly patterned walls, images of classical busts and sumptuous drapes, all washed with mellow sophisticated lighting.
It’s the stage for our award winning head chef, David Phythian, who has run the kitchens at some of the Northwest’s most hi-profile events, to showcase his seasonal modern British cuisine. It might be a summer dish of chargrilled chicken and Mediterranean vegetables, or chilli and lime marinated duck breast, or a spring sea bass with crushed new potatoes and micro herb salad. Whatever your choice, it’s followed by a desert list containing at least one local special – a selection of Cheshire farms ice cream.
It’s a classic menu and we really wouldn’t want to shine the spotlight on any dishes in particular. A word to the wise, however. David’s noted for his sensational soups. If you happen to find a bowl of roasted pepper and tomato, flavoured with rosemary and served with pesto sippets, or a country ham and split pea, gracing the starters list, it’s worth giving them some serious thought. Likewise, you might want to start, or end, your meal, in our seriously stylish open-plan sculpture lounge. It’ll add that little bit extra to an already special occasion.
