Hallmark Hotel Bournemouth East Cliff
Take one fabulously friendly hotel with large windows, balconies and an al fresco swimming pool. Mix with a peach of a cliff top location offering widescreen views over the glistening sea, and a resort with seven miles of honey-blonde sand and one of the best sunshine records in Britain. The result? The Hallmark Hotel Bournemouth East Cliff.
We’re nothing if not versatile. We understand you may be with us on a holiday with your children, perhaps brandishing a bucket and spade on the sand or visiting the New Forest or Beaulieu Motor Museum. So we’ve dedicated 15 rooms to families, each with three extra beds.
We also know you may also be here alone for business – we’re just half a mile from the Bournemouth International Centre, after all – and will appreciate our large desks and super speedy WiFi. And, of course, we understand your may be enjoying a romantic short break, taking in the vibrant nightlife, theatre and gallery. It really doesn’t matter. Whatever the reason the Hallmark Hotel Bournemouth East Cliff with its elegant wood floored reception, stylish lounge and flower-filled pool terrace, has something for everyone.
Many of our 67 spacious rooms offer sea views and are washed with dazzling ocean light, some have French doors onto balconies, but all, without exception, have tasteful bright airy interiors drizzled with coastal-themed artworks and photography.
Then there’s our acclaimed brasserie style dining. Bournemouth maybe a famously English holiday spot, but our menu travels further afield with modern British and European classics mixed with the occasional spicy long haul favourite. You can chose between the likes of arancini, beer-battered fish or vegetable Madras curry, or try the pork schnitzel, Moroccan style slow cooked lamb and Goan prawn curry.
Of course the English Channel provides plenty of waterborne activities to burn off the calories you devour in our restaurant. But should you wish to stay closer to home, we have a sun kissed, seasonally heated outdoor pool. We also reap the reward of being part of Hallmark’s fabulous stable of properties. Walk for two minutes and you can use the leisure facilities of the lovely Hallmark Hotel Bournemouth Carlton, which has an indoor pool for less clement days and a state-of-the-art gym for more vigorous workouts as well as a sauna, spa pool and top notch pampering at Michelle’s Beauty Salon.
While sleep and food (and a little sun kissed indolence by the pool) are the heart of our business, the Hallmark Hotel Bournemouth East Cliff offers more. Far more. We’re also a local hotspot for weddings. It’s not just down to the enviable location and oceanfront terrace, which guarantees wonderful photographs of your big day. Although they certainly help. It’s also down to our six superb function rooms with their bright contemporary décor and first-rate facilities that can host anything from an intimate gathering to a civil reception for 150.
Add in our experienced well connected event coordinators who can provide inspiration, meticulous organizational skills and it’s little surprise we also boast a stellar reputation for hosting corporate events and private celebrations from landmark anniversaries and birthdays to christenings and graduations (in fact Bournemouth University is just ten minutes away).
Our sister hotel, the Hallmark Bournemouth Carlton is just 150 metres from our front door, and as a guest at the Hallmark Bournemouth East Cliff you have free access to the indoor swimming pool, gymnasium and spa facilities there.
When it comes to lunch or dinner, you can also choose between our brasserie-style restaurant and the more formal Frederick’s restaurant at our sister hotel just up the road.
We have a fantastic range of rooms to suit all guests – including 15 family bedrooms. Our Sea View rooms, some with balconies, offer some of the best views in Bournemouth – beautiful to wake up to and a lovely way to unwind at the end of the day.
Finally, when you stay with us you might not realized it but you’re actually experiencing part of the famous resort’s 20th century history. From the end of WW2 to the end of the 1970s, Bournemouth was the epicentre of Jewish holidays in the UK. Its eight main kosher hotels including what was then the East Cliff Court, could host over 1,000 guests.
Times change. Bournemouth and the East Cliff have moved on. But most of the essentials that made it such a draw during that unique holiday era, remain the same: a lovely hotel with spacious rooms in a marvellous position. We look forward to seeing you soon.
