From: 12th November to 22nd December
Birmingham’s offering is now officially the largest outdoor Christmas market in Britain, and acts as a focal point for all things festive in the second city. Feast your eyes and stomachs on all manner of Yuletide treats, whether you fancy a wienerschnitzel or knoblauchbrot, bratwurst or pretzel. Head to one of the many bars for a warming mulled wine or hot cider. The choices are endless, stretching from Victoria Square down to the Rotunda.
In addition to the usual market traders that fly into the country for Christmas duties, Birmingham also hosts a separate Craft Market, which is home to a huge variety of stalls manned by local artisans, providing a different take on the standard gifts. From traditional English creations, to ethnic products that have been sourced from overseas, you’ll be spoilt for choice in Centenary Square, and this is also where Britain’s seasonal menu comes into play- so think delicacies from the region, rather than the continent.
