Having not been to Chessington for years, we decided to visit as a family with my two young sons. What a great theme park for small children!
There’s such a lot to do but without miles of walking like some of the other large theme parks. We spent the first part of the day looking at sea life and zoo animals. The highlight was the fantastic safari reserve where giraffes, zebra, flamingos and ostriches run freely. We weres hoping to see the rhinos but these can only be seen on the Zufari. Unfortunately, toddlers and babies cannot go on this ride because it is very bumpy.
The second half of the day was spent on the rides. We we’re grateful we hardly spent any time queuing…the longest we had to wait was 5 mins to get on the Flying Jumbos ride. There are electronic boards clearly stating the maximum queue times at each ride anyway.
Its a good clean theme park with some healthy eating options as well. We will definitely revisit Chessington, however I think next time we will make a short break of it and stay over in a hotel, taking advantage of the 2 days for 1 offer. That way we can do the zoo and sea life one day and the theme park the next day. There really is a bit too much to see in one day!
Hallmark Hotel Croydon offers overnight hotel packages to Chessington with tickets included.
